Drummers Beat Red Pandas, 9-4
|
Jesús Morales made an impact in the 9-4 Tortolita win over Sioux Falls. Morales, who is rated as the 18th best prospect by BNN, was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tortolita starter Eduardo Bravo was credited with the win after throwing 72 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Tortolita is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.
Morales came through with some timely hitting for Tortolita. With the score 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth and two down, Morales hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single. It was his 9th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Drummers managed to win.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Morales told the Tortolita Herald.
