Joey Jones was instrumental in his team's 8-4 triumph over the Austin Rangers. The right fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Richardson City Thundercats. Richardson City reliever Ramón Ortega picked up the win to move to 1-2. John Wilkins suffered the loss. Richardson City, now 27-23, holds 4th place in the Premier League.

Carroll Martin in the top of the fifth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Thundercats trailing 3-2, the Richardson City left fielder hit a sacrifice fly.

In postgame remarks, Martin said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
