Thundercats Sink Rangers, 9-5

The Richardson City Thundercats beat the Austin Rangers, 9-5, at Rangers Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Ramón García, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Richardson City reliever Manuel Franco picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Shawn Arnold shouldered the loss. The win puts the Thundercats at 26-23, while the Rangers drop to 24-25.
Richardson City took the lead in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Carroll Martin stroked a run-scoring double to make it 6-5, Thundercats.
"We maximized our offense today," said Richardson City skipper Imran Kopitar. "That makes everyone's life easier."
