Miners Bump Off Fur Traders, 4-3
|
The Marquette Miners and Tacoma Fur Traders played an exciting game at Marquette Stadium.
Marquette right fielder Steve Koch was a significant contributor in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Tacoma Fur Traders. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Marquette. Marquette reliever Cisco Ortega was credited with the win, to go to 4-0. César Rosado took the loss for Tacoma.
When the Miners needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Koch who delivered. Facing Tacoma pitcher César Rosado the bottom of the third with a runner on 2nd, Koch hit his 2nd home run of the year. It made the score 3-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Marquette Miners manager William Franklin.
The first-place Miners have a one-game lead in their division.
