Loss to Fur Traders Extends Bethesda Losing Streak
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders racked up a win at Atoms Field, bumping off the Bethesda Atoms, 5-3. Baker Mayfield, who started for Tacoma, pitched effectively for his team. Mayfield got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Mayfield allowed 3 earned runs. Steve Adkins got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.
Tacoma took control in the top of the seventh. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Nate Cates hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Fur Traders.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Cates told the Tacoma Chronicle.
