Blue Sox Lose Again, 7-5
|
Despite a great performance by Irving third baseman António Canales, the Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Blue Sox by the score of 7-5 at Ballpark of Tacoma. Canales was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Tacoma reliever Jeff Pearce, now 4-5. The loser was Jim Unknown. The slumping Blue Sox have lost 6 straight.
Tacoma took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Jim Unknown hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Fur Traders fans to their feet.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Unknown told the Tacoma Chronicle.
