The Billings Polar Bears downed the Durham Rapiers, 15-0, at Rapiers Ballpark. The Polar Bears were led by Fa-tang Wang, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Billings has 5 straight wins, Durham 3 straight losses.
Wang came through with some timely hitting for Billings. With the score 3-0 in the top of the fourth and no one down, Wang hit a first pitch fastball for a bases-clearing double. It was his 6th double of the season -- and a big reason the Polar Bears managed to win.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Durham manager Brody Roberts. "We got the snot knocked out of us."
