The Billings Polar Bears got a strong performance from pitcher Mick Alston, who stymied the Tacoma offense en route to a 4-1 win at The Igloo. Alston, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Jim Unknown closed the game out for Billings, earning his 1st save.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Billings took the lead on a 2-run double by Jorge Noutel. At the time, the Polar Bears were trailing 1-0, but Noutel's hit with two outs against Tacoma pitcher César Rosado put them in front, 2-1.

Noutel told a Billings Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

Billings now sits in 7th place in the Silver AA at 33-38.
