Panama City got a terrific game from third baseman Herman Hayes. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Thunder Bay, 8-5. Hayes was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tyler MacHugh earned his 3rd save in 5 tries. The Northern Lions BC now have a record of 19-27.
Keith Fish didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring triple to put Thunder Bay on top, 1-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC manager Scott Williams. "We came out swinging the bats."
