Late Magic Gets Durham 4-3 Win
|
The Durham Rapiers defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 4-3, in USSL Double A action at Chesapeake Grounds, with Durham pitcher Christian Harris named player of the game. Stu Noble got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. José Morales finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Bill Allen's hit in the top of the 15th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Eduardo García for a 2-run single. It put Durham in front, 4-2.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Brody Roberts.
The Rapiers now have a record of 12-9 with the win over Chesapeake.
