Rapiers Dump Continentals, 3-1

Durham Rapiers starter Darius Baxa turned in a top-notch performance against the Chesapeake Continentals at Chesapeake Grounds. The result was a win for the Rapiers, 3-1. Dave Seals finished the game for Durham and earned his 5th save. With the win, Durham pushes its record to 11-9.
The Rapiers beat the Continentals in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the double Marcos Roa produced in the top of the fifth. Batting against Chesapeake pitcher Javier Mena, he gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Chesapeake manager José Flores.
