Youth Stay Hot with 8-1 Win
|
Phoenix Hotspur beat Irving at Grenadiers Ballpark, eking out a 8-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Cobus Reijnen, who earned player of the game honors. Phoenix Hotspur, at 12-2, has sizzled in the early going.
Pierre Bernard took Paco Hernández deep with two out in the bottom of the second. On a first pitch slider, Bernard drilled a 2-run home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season and put Phoenix Hotspur on top, 3-1.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Phoenix Hotspur manager Fabián Pineda.
