Rivera Goes Off, But Men Win
|
Naperville got a terrific game from right fielder Ángel Rivera. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Florida, 13-7. Rivera was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Florida reliever Pompeyo Davalillo picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Kenshin Koike took the loss. Florida's record now stands at 37-65, placing them last in the Menard's AAA.
Also contributing to the win was shortstop Mesa Altuve, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third for Florida. For the game, Altuve was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Florida Men manager Jorge Garza. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
