Piranhas Deal Rangers 6-2 Setback
|
Panama City starter Kirby Buckner pitched effectively against the Austin Rangers at Rangers Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Buckner, now 1-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The win gives Panama City a record of 3-1.
Cale Sutton went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs against the Rangers. In the top of the first inning, he hit a run-scoring double, putting Panama City in front, 1-0.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Panama City manager Brian Talamante.
