Golden Cranes Take Down Humpbacks, 8-1
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Santa Barbara center fielder Edmund Gallagher was instrumental in his team's 8-1 win over the Alaskan Humpbacks. Gallagher went 3-5 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Golden Cranes. Santa Barbara reliever Henri Pollini picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Quentin Bowers shouldered the loss.
Gallagher in the top of the fifth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Golden Cranes leading 3-1, he hit a bases-clearing double.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Santa Barbara manager Mark Harrison.
The second-place Humpbacks have lost 4 straight games.
