Pitcher Glen Holland was sensational for the Brinkley Belugas in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Augusta Timber Hawks. Holland received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Holland, now 5-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. The Belugas saw their win-loss record go to 24-29. At the same time, the Timber Hawks fall to 27-26.
The Belugas beat the Timber Hawks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Leo Cadden produced in the top of the sixth. Batting against Augusta pitcher Iván Flores, he gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Cadden told the Brinkley Times. "Whatever it takes."
