Golden Cranes Win Again, Extend Streak to 7
|
Ortíz never let Salt Lake City get something going. The Santa Barbara left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Golden Cranes to a win. The second-place Golden Cranes have won 7 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Lúcio Sánchez was at the plate when Santa Barbara scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Golden Cranes to go in front, 1-0.
"We're a pretty talented bunch when we're playing well," said Sánchez. "I think we showed that here."
