The Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Brinkley Belugas, 2-1, in M3L Triple A action at Spirits Stadium, with Salt Lake City pitcher Roberto De La Cruz named player of the game. De La Cruz got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. De La Cruz allowed 1 earned run. Salt Lake City is first in the Menard's AAA with a record of 32-9.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Buzz grabbed the lead when Justin MacPherson rapped a two-out home run. Salt Lake City was trailing 1-0, when MacPherson hit a 2-run home run off Esteban Gómez to put his team in front, 2-1.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said De La Cruz.
