Cole Thrash had a good game, but he could not keep the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC from falling, 7-6, to the Oakland Oaks at Oakland Coliseum. The Thunder Bay right fielder went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 in the loss. Oakland reliever Seb Alport picked up the win to move to 1-0. Mauro Guerra suffered the loss. Getting the save was Gil Brown, his 3rd.
Oakland took control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Jorge Vargas hit a 2-run single to make it 7-5, Oaks.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager DAshley GoAs.
Oakland is 4th in the Premier League with a record of 17-14.
