Mark Smiley was the difference-maker for the Bloomington Longnecks in what turned into a shootout with the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Smiley earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-4 in the 10-9 Longnecks win. Miguel Cervantes earned the win for Bloomington. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2. The Longnecks own a robust 14-16 mark.
Michael Hicks, the Bloomington right fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 7-5, Longnecks. For the game, Hicks went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
