Piranhas Clip Patriots in Tight Contest

The Boston Patriots got a sterling performance from pitcher Tom Reynolds, but the Piranhas still prevailed, 4-3. Reynolds was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings allowing 1 run. Panama City reliever Tobías Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Folkert van Huizen absorbed the loss. With the win, Panama City has a record of 18-12. Boston falls to 21-9.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Panama City trailing 3-0, Herman Hayes hit a cutter from Folkert van Huizen to right for a grand slam home run. Just like that, the Piranhas had a walk-off win.
"This place sure got loud," said Brian Talamante, the Panama City manager.
