Late Rally by Belugas Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Brinkley Belugas topped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 3-1, in M3L Triple A action at Crane Field. The player of the game was Brinkley pitcher and White Sands, New Mexico native Don Teehan. Brinkley reliever Steven Jones picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Joey McCarthy was saddled with the loss. The Belugas improved to a lofty 14-13 mark.
One significant at-bat for Brinkley came with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth. The hitter, Eric Porter, hit a sacrifice fly, which helped the Belugas go on to win.
In comments to the Brinkley Times, Porter admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
