Coyotes Stick Humpbacks with 1-0 Loss
|
The Hamilton Coyotes and Alaskan Humpbacks put on a pitchers' duel at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Alaskan Humpbacks got a superb performance from pitcher Quentin Bowers. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hamilton. The Coyotes won the game, 1-0. In spite of the loss, Bowers was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Taro Ohayashi closed the game out for Hamilton, earning his 2nd save.
Hamilton took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Noel Wells hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Coyotes.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Wells.
The 8th-place Coyotes are now 12-15, the Humpbacks 14-13.
