Belugas Win at Santa Barbara, 8-2

The exploits of designated hitter Mike Cook helped the Brinkley Belugas defeat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 8-2. Cook was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Esteban Gómez earned the win for Brinkley. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing no earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 1-4. Alfredo Ruíz finished the game for Brinkley and earned his 1st save.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth, when Cook hit a 2-run double. The Belugas went on to win.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Wilson Alvarado said.
The Belugas go to 13-13, putting them 6th in the Menard's AAA.
