Salt Lake City second baseman Roberto Soto played a vital role in his team's 6-5 triumph over Brinkley. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for Salt Lake City. Jorge Mejía earned the save, his 4th, for the Buzz. The Salt Lake City Buzz, now 14-3, have stormed out of the gates.
Ron Bascombe aided the Salt Lake City cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter drove in one run.
Bascombe told the Salt Lake City News: "We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win."
