|
Brinkley beat Scranton at Nuclear Stadium, escaping with a 12-6 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Leo Cadden, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Brinkley Belugas are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 11 games.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth, when Cadden drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Belugas went on to win.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Cadden told the Brinkley Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
