Santa Barbara Golden Cranes shortstop Ángel López had a day to remember at Belugas Ballpark today, ripping apart the Brinkley Belugas and sparking the Golden Cranes to a 11-6 victory.
López wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," López told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Ángel López singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
