Evergreens Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Starting pitcher Antonio Godfrey pitched well enough to help the Portland Evergreens beat the Houston 1837 BBC by the score of 4-3. The winner was Portland reliever Mike Farrell, now 1-0. The loser was Rodrigo Rangel. At 8-17, the Evergreens find themselves in last place in the Third League.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the 12th, Raúl Delgado had a chance to end it. Houston pitcher Rodrigo Rangel had other ideas. But with two outs, Delgado hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Evergreens had the walk-off win.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Houston manager Tyler Johnson.
