Victory Over Red Knights Takes Chicago to 9-4
|
It was a good time at Gold Sox Field, where fans came to watch the Capital District Red Knights and Chicago Gold Sox get after it.
Starting pitcher Keisuke Nishida pitched well enough to help the Chicago Gold Sox beat the Capital District Red Knights by the score of 9-3. Nishida went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Stanley Belote, the 22-year old center fielder . Belote contributed a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Belote told reporters after the game.
Capital District, at 2-11, has had a dismal start to the season.
