Legion Continue Hot Start to Season with Win
|
Kingston Township rode a good effort from starter Jon Briddon to beat the New Amsterdam Dutchmen at Dutch Master Park. The final score was 4-1. Briddon was the winning pitcher and moves to 3-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 4 walks. John Riggleman got credit for the save for Kingston Township. It was his 1st of the year.
Kingston Township grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth when Clarence Neal hit a run-scoring double. For the day, Neal went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray.
The Dutchmen fall to 5-7 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2027 season.
