1837 BBC Deal Evergreens 6-1 Setback
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Luis Tapia, the Houston 1837 BBC stymied the Portland Evergreens, 6-1. The loss drops Portland to 0-5.
Houston catcher Jason Alexander helped the 1837 BBC go up, 4-1, in the bottom of the third inning. With the game tied, Alexander hit a 3-run home run off Portland pitcher Jesús Medina.
Alexander told the Houston Daily News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
