First Baseman Ramos has 5 RBI in Win
|
The Grafton Middies turned back the Seattle Aviators, 8-5, at Field of the Middies. Mario Ramos was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Grafton reliever Truman Valentine was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Matt Harris. With the win, the Middies improved to 44-54.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Ramos. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Middies were trailing 5-4, Ramos delivered a two-out grand slam home run for Grafton, giving his team the lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Ramos told the Grafton Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
