Middies Prevail, 5-2, Over Phoenix
|
Chase Field was the site of a competitive game between the Phoenix Hotspur and Grafton Middies.
Grafton Middies starter Dave Turner was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Phoenix Hotspur, 5-2. Lynwood Matos got the save, the 21st for him this season.
In the top of the fifth inning, third baseman Stefano Gaddi came through big-time for the Middies. With Grafton leading 3-1, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We were in it," said Phoenix manager Michael Esposito. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Grafton is in 8th place in the Silver League with a record of 43-52.
