García Raps Yakima for 5 Hits Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 Athletic Club KC Academy designated hitter Tony García had a day to remember at KC Academy Field today, ripping apart the Yakima Hops and sparking the Athletic Club KC Academy to a 7-6 victory. García wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," García told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Tony García singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. García is hitting .285 this year with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 351 at-bats, 39 walks and a .361 on-base percentage. García has played in 85 games.
