Hit Streak Now at 20 for Jelarde Friday, August 28th, 2026 Virginia Beach's Luis Jelarde was 2-for-5 in the Deuces 8-1 victory over the Glendale Herons. That stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. In the clubhouse after the win, the 24-year-old Jelarde told reporters, "I'm in a groove right now, and I am trying to stay there by doing the same things over and over again. If I change something, it might bring me bad luck." Luis Jelarde struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This year Jelarde has hit at a .290 pace and produced 47 RBIs, 18 home runs and scored 38 runs. |
