M3L Double A Names #1 Pitcher in July Saturday, August 1st, 2026 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Rafael Avelar, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Billings Polar Bears reliever, 22, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .193 average and walked away with the M3L Double A Pitcher of the Month award for July. Avelar posted a 3-0 mark and a 1.05 ERA in 10 relief appearances. In 25.2 innings, he had 1 save, 24 strikeouts, and 14 walks. This season Avelar has made 27 relief appearances with 2 saves. In 65.2 innings he has fanned 62 hitters and recorded 6 wins and 2 losses with a 2.60 ERA. |
