2-Game Suspensions for Torres-Méndez Fight Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Tortolita's Francisco Torres and Houston's Carlos Méndez were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office. They both were suspended for 2 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Torres charged Méndez. Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation. For the year Torres has hit .167 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 0 runs. So far this season Méndez has picked up 1 save in 7 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark with a 2.02 ERA and fanned 10 batters in 13.1 innings. |
