Martínez 5-for-5 for Reserves Monday, August 24th, 2026 Even as a kid, Miguel Martínez said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Cayuse Ballpark today, Martínez showed how well he learned that lesson. The 32-year-old designated hitter had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Athletic Club KC Reserves, helping his team knock off the Gryfindor Braves by a score of 19-6. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Miguel Martínez hit a three-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Casey Dagher in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Casey Dagher in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and walked in the 8th.
