Coffman Guns Down Capital District Thursday, September 17th, 2026 Walt Coffman of the New Amsterdam Republics was on fire against Capital District. He shut them down 7-0 on 4 hits and no runs with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Coffman said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
