The Retrievers had to overcome a good performance from Thunder Bay pitcher Jorge Castillo to claim a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Northern Virginia. Castillo went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Today's win puts Northern Virginia at 44-39, while Thunder Bay falls to 49-34.

Miguel Cruz's at-bat in the bottom of the second was significant for the Retrievers. Coming to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Northern Virginia leading 2-0, the second baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams.
