The Northern Virginia Retrievers picked up a win at Ballpark of Northern Virginia, knocking off the Austin Rangers, 4-1. On the mound for Northern Virginia was left-hander Raúl Gómez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Retrievers bumped their record to 43-33 with this latest triumph.

Francisco Ornelas aided the Northern Virginia cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ornelas told reporters after the game.
