Jones goes 3-for-4 as Patriots Squeeze Past Detroit
|
Tommy Jones was instrumental in his team's 10-3 triumph over the Detroit Renaissance. The center fielder went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4 for the Boston Patriots. Boston, now 12-7, has played well in the early going.
Also producing for Boston was first baseman Terry Armstrong, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth. For the game, Armstrong went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
Detroit manager Joe Koralewski said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
