The Ft. Worth Cattlemen beat the Austin Rangers, 8-3, at Rangers Stadium. Ft. Worth first baseman Bart Lewis earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Bartolomeu Lio, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 5-10. The 5th-place Cattlemen lifted their record to 39-35.

Also doing his part was right fielder Joey Morgan, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first for Ft. Worth. For the game, Morgan was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.

"I was a little disappointed," said Austin manager Jordan Calhoun. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
