A 3-RBI performance from designated hitter David Smith, who is tied for 2nd in the SL in home runs with 17, led the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC to a 7-6 win over the Grafton Middies. Thunder Bay is now 43-28, 4˝ games up in the Division II.

Smith came through with some timely hitting for Thunder Bay. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the second and two down, Smith hit a 0-1 fastball for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Northern Lions BC managed to win.

"We did enough to win," said Smith.
