1837 BBC Win at Thunder Bay, 5-4
|
The 1837 BBC had to overcome a good performance from Thunder Bay pitcher Bill Lee to claim a 5-4 win at Great Northern Field. Lee went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Houston reliever Tyler Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Jorge Castillo shouldered the loss. Getting the save was Francisco Valdés, his 17th.
Bob Dickerson broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the ninth with a run-scoring walk. It put the 1837 BBC in front, 5-4. For the game, Dickerson was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"It feels good to get that win," said Dickerson. "Now it's on to the next one."
The 1837 BBC go to 27-32, putting them 9th in the Division II.
