Stingers Lose, 5-3, at Rangers Stadium

The Austin Rangers picked up a win at Rangers Stadium, knocking off the Toledo Stingers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Juan Valéncia played a key role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Valéncia surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Júlio Rodríguez recorded the save for Austin, his 11th of the season.
Yun Yen, who is tied for 10th in the SL with a .363 on-base percentage, aided the Austin cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
In postgame remarks, Yen said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
Austin now owns a record of 29-29.
