The Grafton Middies beat the Northern Virginia Retrievers, 5-2, at Ballpark of Northern Virginia. The Middies got a fine performance from third baseman Stefano Gaddi, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. This win makes it 1 in a row for Grafton.
Mario Ramos didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Grafton on top, 2-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Gaddi, "and today was a good one for us."
