The Cattlemen faced a stiff challenge from Houston pitcher Phil Miles, but persevered to claim a win at The Cattle Pen. The final score was 3-2. Miles went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The win was credited to Don Miller in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Phil Miles took the loss. Jason Horne earned the save, his 12th, for the Cattlemen.
In the bottom of the 4th, Ft. Worth took the lead on a 3-run home run by Nobuo Yamashita. At the time, the Cattlemen were trailing 1-0, but Yamashita's hit with two outs against Houston pitcher Phil Miles put them in front, 3-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Yamashita said after the game.
Houston now has a 5-game losing streak.
