Mario Ramos had a good game, but he could not keep the Grafton Middies from falling, 5-4, to the Northern Virginia Retrievers at Ballpark of Northern Virginia. The Grafton first baseman went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The second-place Retrievers lifted their record to 29-26.
Northern Virginia grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Ethan Miller delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Retrievers.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Miller.
