Oaks Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Panama City Piranhas got a superb performance from pitcher John Dempsey, but the Oaks still won the game, 2-1. Dempsey was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball. Earning his 1st save of the year was Seb Alport. The loss lowers the record for Panama City to 1-1.
The most important at-bat for Oakland came in the top of the tenth inning, when pinch hitter Edwin Church stroked a 0-1 cutter to left-center for a solo home run, putting Oakland up, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
